5 months after winning the 1970 Boston Marathon in a record time of 2:10:30, Ron started to produce kit. Dr Ron had a PhD in Textile Chemistry from the University of Manchester and began to rethink how running kit was made and developed the split short (which became the Freedom Short) and the Mesh Vest.
